V out along the length of the repair through the thickness of the metal. The larger the V’d out area, the stronger the join.
Ÿ
Preheat the area surrounding the place to be brazed to build up the background heat.
Ÿ
Concentrate the heat on the repair site until a good working temperature is reached, then thoroughly tin the area, working the braze into the metal with the brush.
Ÿ
Continue adding the rod into the molten pool until the required thickness is achieved. Do not melt the rod directly in the flame.
Ÿ
Allow to cool slowly. Do not put into water or try to speed up the cooling process in any other way.
