MAGNESIUM ALLOYS
Check that the alloy is not a low melting point one by heating in an unimportant place until HTS-2000 melts on the metal. If the metal starts to melt at about the same time, treat like pot metal, otherwise treat like aluminium.

Oil Impregnated Aluminium
Bring the alloy temperature to 392°C until the rod melts. If oil reappears, greys or blackens, re-clean the base metal and continue with the repair.
